Ben Limmer

Ben (Te Ātiawa) is a proud product of the Ōtautahi performing arts scene. Having gained a BEd majoring in Performing Arts as well as a Teaching and Learning Diploma from Canterbury University, Ben has taught Performing Arts to students at a Primary and Secondary level for more that fifteen years in New Zealand, The UK and Australia. He has won awards for his dance and drama work at schools, most recently a national award in Australia from the Wakakirri Story Dance Festival.

Some of Ben’s previous performing credits include Joseph (Showbiz Canterbury); 42nd Street (Dunedin Operatic); Ovation! (Wellington Musical Theatre) as well as The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (Walt Disney Pictures) and Shakespeare in the park productions with Top Dog Theatre Company.

Currently, Ben leads Education and Outreach at the Court Theatre and is excited to be directing The Kuia and The Spider (Te Kuia me te Pungawerewere), his first for The Court Theatre.
