Theatresports™ in Schools is an annual competition for improvised theatre held by The Court Theatre. School teams of up to six perform scenes and games based on audience suggestions, scored by a judging panel of The Court Jesters. Teams who progress through the heats are invited to participate in the grand finale at The Court Theatre.

Heat 3 - 2pm (1pm call time)

Finals: Sunday 3rd September at 3pm (with a call time of 2pm)
Junior Competition

Finals: The Court Theatre
Saturday 4th November
Heat 1 - 2pm (1pm call time)

Heat 3 – 11am (10am call time)
Heat 4 - 2pm (1pm call time)

Finals: Sunday 26th November at 3pm (with a call time of 2pm)

Coaching Session 2023
These coaching sessions are a great opportunity for teams wanting some tutoring from The Court Jesters, and are included in the registration fee. Schools may choose one session each for coaches, juniors, and senior teams. They are held on-site at The Court Theatre.
Coaches Training - Wednesday 21st June 4:30pm -6pm
Senior Teams Training - Sunday 23rd or 30th July, 1pm - 4pm
Junior Teams Training - Sunday 15th or 29th October, 1pm -4pm

1 Team (Junior or Senior): $240.00
2 Teams (Junior and/or Senior): $400.00
3 Teams (Junior and/or Senior): $550.00
4 Teams (Junior and/or Senior): $680.00
(Prices are exclusive of GST)
Please note: Years 7-9 are Junior and Years 11-13 are Senior. Students in Year 10 may choose whether to compete in the Junior or Senior category (but are only permitted to perform in one of these).
In the 2023 Competition teams are able to enter more than one Junior or Senior Team.
Registration fees cover entry into the competitions as well as professional sessions with a Court Jester.
We do have scholarship places available for schools who are unable to fund the registration fees, please let us know if you are interested in finding out how to apply for these.
