Team Building
Working with your class or group using creative team building techniques and exercises to grow a positive group dynamic. A fast and meaningful way to improve skills in listening, team work, giving and receiving feedback and creative decision making. Working with a professional theatre maker, these sessions can take place at your school or as part of a visit to the theatre.
Storytelling
An interactive storytelling workshop where children are actively encouraged to develop their own storytelling talents. Activities include oral and physical storytelling, drama, improvisation, and can be tailored to your group of children. Storytelling engages children in a fun filled and imaginative learning experience. Movement for Performance
A fun and dynamic workshop looking at the different ways we use physicality to create a performance. Focusing on developing a strong sense of working as an ensemble. A good lesson in making bold choices and in working together to create exciting physical performance. We can cater this workshop to any specific areas of interest in your school. Creating Characters
An exploration of the different elements that make up a compelling character - strong physicality, vocal work and depth of understanding. Focusing on knowing the backstory of your character and how they interact with others to create a quirky piece of theatre. Working with a professional theatre maker, these sessions can take place at your school or as part of a visit to the theatre. They can be adjusted to meet any specific requirements you may have.
Intro to Drama Skills
One of our most popular workshops to give an overall introduction to the skills we use in drama. Learning fun warm up games and exploring activities that generate creativity and confidence. This high energy workshop will teach students the fundamentals of acting and performance whilst also being a lot of fun! Working with a professional theatre maker, these sessions can take place at your school or as part of a visit to the theatre. They can also be adjusted to reflect any areas of interest.
Intro to Improv
Discover the fun and hilarity of improvised theatre. Working on skills of play and spontaneity this workshop is great for confidence building and creativity. It promotes quick thinking and often creates a lot laughs as well as exploring the basic skills of performance. Working with one of our Court Jesters, these sessions can take place at your school or as part of a visit to the theatre.
Backstage Tour
Go behind the scenes at The Court Theatre. Take a guided tour that visits the various departments that bring a show to the stage and hear anecdotes from The Court's history. A fantastic experience for students preparing for their own production.
Creative Classrooms
A workshop leading teachers through exciting drama activities for use in the classroom. Sharing activities in role play, characterisation, improvisation and performance that develop children’s speaking and listening skills, confidence, and oral and written communication. It will explore the potential of drama for teaching other curriculum subjects such as maths and science.
