The Court Theatre's Adult Acting programme is here to guide and support you to find your creative voice. Learn the fundamental skills needed to captivate an audience or hone your skills to a higher level of professional practice in our inspirational new performance spaces at The Court in the City.

OPEN ADULT ACTING

Led by Hester Ullyart, stage and screen actor, playwright and director, Open Adult Acting is for those who are looking to develop acting skills in a fun, relaxed and encouraging environment. Hester will help you build confidence and de-mystify some of the processes and ways into creating scenes and character. You will work together as a group and feel what it means to create a company dynamic, as well as strengthening and developing your own skills and abilities, no matter where you are in your acting journey. Throughout, there will be a focus on accessing emotions safely, ways of interpreting text, ways into characterisation, the necessity and joy of play, company and solo movement, connection to voice, and collaboration. This class is suitable for people with experience and those new to acting.
ADVANCED ADULT ACTING
7:30pm – 9:30pm

Age: 18+
Led by Lisa Allan, performer and creator of original and experimental theatre, Advanced Adult Acting is for experienced actors keen to hone their craft. Lisa will continue the invaluable practice of scene study with the group. Working with Finegan Kruckemeyer's script, This Girl Laughs, This Girl Cries, This Girl Does Nothing, Lisa will step participants through processes of analysis and interpretation towards bringing parts of the piece to life in an end-of-term presentation. You will dig deeper into the actor's toolkit to sharpen performance techniques. You will receive honest and practical feedback in a unique environment, challenging you to work at a high level of performance artistry. Ideal for aspiring actors and those ready to take their acting seriously.
