Alison has worked as an actor, director and voice over artist in theatre, commercials, television and film in the UK, Germany and Vancouver. To New Zealand audiences she is known for her role as Tiffany Pratt-Warner-Marinovich on the nightly serial, Shortland Street. For the last 16 years, she taught at the Vancouver Film School in her role as Senior Instructor in Acting, Camera and Curriculum.
Originally from Otautahi, Alison trained as a dancer at Southern Ballet, studied English Literature at the University of Canterbury and later attended Toi Whakaari. Her first professional role was Agnes in the Court Theatre’s 1990 production of Gypsy. In the UK, she worked as assistant director and was mentored by Erica Whyman (former Acting Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Company) and by Stephen Unwin for Garsington Opera and English Touring Theatre.
She has directed several short films, theatre productions and children’s television. A member of Equity UK and UBCP-ACTRA, some of her acting credits include Deadzone, Supernatural, Death of a Cheerleader and Man in the High Castle.
